We welcome you to worship with the Lutheran Church of the Master for Ash Wednesday. Today marks the beginning of our forty-day journey toward Easter with a day of fasting and repentance. Marking ourselves with dust, we acknowledge that we die and return to the earth. At the same time, the dust traces the life-giving cross indelibly marked on our foreheads at baptism. While we journey through Lent seeking to better acknowledge God’s presence all around us, we recall that we have already been reconciled to God through Christ. We humbly pray for God to make our hearts clean while we rejoice that “now is the day of salvation.” Returning to our baptismal call, we more intentionally bear the fruits of mercy and justice in the world.

It is my hope that you have each had the opportunity to download the resources for Ash Wednesday to prepare your at home worship spaces. I also hope that they continue to be fulfilling for you as today promises to be an inspiring morning. For our liturgy today I invite you to please download and open the worship guide to fully participate as you too are a vital participant in today’s liturgy. Peace & Blessings Dear Church ~ Pastor Dave
