Welcome to worship this weekend with the Lutheran Church of the Master for the 2nd Sunday of Advent! In the miraculous birth of John the Baptist, we see the foundation of what is to come. We see how interwoven his story is with Jesus’ origin story. Zechariah offers deep praise for God’s tender mercy, and casts a hopeful vision for his own child. He sings blessings into John’s being laying the foundation for John’s life. In turn, John will go on to prepare the way for Jesus who will guide us all in the way of peace. In this week, we focus on making space—in our lives and our imaginations—for God’s blessings to break through.
I hope you have had the opportunity to download the resources for this Season of anticipation to prepare your at-home worship spaces or worship in the building. I also hope that your sabbath is fulfilling, as today promises to be an inspiring morning. For worship today, I invite you to please download and open the worship guide to fully participate as you, too, are a vital participant in today’s liturgy. Peace & Blessings Dear Church ~ Pastor Dave
