ELCA Youth Gathering 2018

JUNE 27 – JULY 1, 2018

Every three years, 30,000 high school youth and their adult leaders from across the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America gather for a week of faith formation known as the ELCA Youth Gathering. Through days spent in interactive learning, worship, Bible study, service and fellowship, young people grow in faith and are challenged and inspired to live their faith in their daily lives.

An important part of the Gathering’s ministry are the two pre-events, the Multicultural Youth Leadership Event (MYLE), a faith formation and leadership development event primarily for youth of color, and the tAble, a gathering that gathers, blesses and empowers youth with disabilities.

The ELCA Youth Gathering will occur June 27-July 1, 2018 in Houston, and the Lutheran Church of the Master will be taking a group! We are hoping many of our students will join in on this great faith adventure. Learn more about the Gathering on the website www.elca.org/gathering.

Here are some details as they stand now…

  • This opportunity is open to youth currently in grades 8-12
  • Elizabeth Dusik and Cesar Navarrete have offered to serve as adult leaders/mentors on the trip
  • The total cost of the trip is still being determined. Each participant will be asked to pay the $150 nonrefundable deposit and we are hoping to fundraise much of the rest of the cost.
  • All interested youth and their parent or guardian should attend the final info meeting on Sunday, November 19th at 11am following worship.
  • We are looking for a commitment from all individuals wanting to go by December 15th.
